Quote: "Conflicts do not solve any problems. That is why we strongly call for an end to the conflict as soon as possible. We also strongly call for negotiations to resume, for genuine political will to be demonstrated, and for everything to be done to eradicate the root causes of this conflict through full and unconditional adherence to the principles of the UN Charter, with the aim of achieving a final, genuine and binding ceasefire."
Details: The diplomat noted that "innocent civilians" are suffering as a result of the war.
"China maintains an impartial position on the Ukrainian crisis [Russia's war against Ukraine – ed.]… we will work actively with all parties – with Russia and Ukraine – and will continue to facilitate the peace process without let-up. Together with the international community, we are ready to continue playing a constructive role in promoting a political settlement of this crisis," Sun Lei concluded.
