Details: The contract is worth several tens of millions of euros and will be recorded in the company's financial statements for the second quarter of 2026.
The company said production has already begun, with deliveries under the contract scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.
The ammunition is being produced at Rheinmetall Expal Munitions in Spain.
ER02A1 B/B shells and M203 propellant charges are already in use by various NATO countries. They are compatible with a wide range of 155-mm artillery systems and provide long range and high effectiveness against targets.
In early June, it emerged that Rheinmetall will supply Romania with €5.7 billion worth of military equipment to strengthen NATO's eastern flank.
Background: Rheinmetall has started serial production of naval drones and is also launching production of kamikaze drones.
