Russia attacks Ukraine with 105 drones and two missiles, strikes recorded at 16 locations

Russia attacked Ukraine with two Kh-59/69 air-launched missiles and 105 drones on the night of 2-3 July. Ukrainian air defences have downed 83 aerial assets, but one missile and 21 drones have struck 16 locations.

Details: From 18:00 on 2 July, Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with two Kh-59/69 air-launched missiles launched from the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast as well as 105 Shahed (some jet-powered), Gerbera and Italmas attack drones and Parodiya decoy UAVs.
The drones were launched from the Russian cities of Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as from the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

Hits by one Kh-59/69 air-launched missile and 21 UAVs have been recorded at 16 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at five locations."

Background:
- On the night of 2-3 July, a mother and her young daughter, along with two other women, were killed in a Russian drone attack on Sumy Oblast. One man was injured.
- On the same night, Russian forces also attacked the city of Lozova in Kharkiv Oblast with a drone, injuring six people, including three children. A 10-year-old girl was taken to hospital with burns covering around 40% of her body.
