Civilian evacuation zone expanded in Kharkiv Oblast

The evacuation zone for civilians in Kharkiv Oblast has been expanded to include hromadas in the Kupiansk, Bohodukhiv and Kharkiv districts. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

Details: The decision was made at a meeting of the oblast defence council.

It took into account the possible deterioration of the security situation in border and frontline hromadas.

  • Mandatory evacuation has been introduced in 41 settlements in the Shevchenkove hromada: Arkadivka, Bohodarivka, Vasylenkove, Velyki Khutory, Verkhniozorianske, Hetmanivka, Horozhanivka, Hroza, Zhuravka, Zorianske, Ivanivka, Kolisnykivka, Leliukivka, Maksymivka, Mali Krynky, Mykilske, Myrne, Myropillia, Mlynky, Mostove, Novyi Lyman, Novostepanivka, Ohurtsivka, Odradne, Oleksandrivka, Oleksiivka, Petrivka, Petropillia, Poltava, Raivka, Sazonivka, Samarske, Semenivka, Stavyshche, Stanislavka, Staryi Chyzvyk, Sumske, Tetianivka, Troitske, Khudoiarove and the settlement of Shevchenkove.
  • In the Bohodukhiv district, evacuation will be carried out from the settlements of Ulianivka and Zarichne, as well as the villages of Ivanivka, Zatyshne, Voskresenivka, Korbyni Ivany, Shkarlaty, Deviatybratove, Zariabynka, Leskivka, Kostiantynivka and Snihy.
  • In the Derhachi hromada, mandatory evacuation and compulsory evacuation of children have been announced in the settlements of Pytomnyk, Nove and Slatyne, as well as the villages of Ruska Lozova, Solonyi Yar, Bezruky and Leshchenky.

Syniehubov urged residents of the designated settlements to evacuate.

He added that the evacuation will be carried out in close coordination with volunteers, law enforcement officers and emergency workers.

He said people will be taken to transit centres, where evacuees receive the necessary support, including "food and non-food kits, legal, psychological and financial assistance".
