The library aims to provide a global audience with access to a unique collection of Ukraine's literary, historical and cultural heritage.

The digitisation of the Nottingham branch's library will be carried out in three stages. During the first stage, around one-third of the collection has already been made publicly available. Another third is expected to be added by the end of summer 2026, with the project scheduled for completion by the end of the year.

The digital catalogue is available in both Ukrainian and English. It currently includes diaries of members of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) and the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), the study The Repressive and Punitive System in Ukraine, 1917-1953, Panteleimon Kulish's The Black Council, collections of works by Lesia Ukrainka, novels and collections by members of the Ukrainian diaspora, Dmytro Dontsov's Nationalism, and many other publications.

Part of the digital collection can be viewed free of charge by selecting the Open Book option. Rare editions are available only upon individual request for educational or academic research purposes.

The AUGB is encouraging schools, universities and anyone interested in Ukraine's history to spread the word about the digital library.

The digital library is available on the project's website.
