Death toll from Russian attack on Vyshneve rises to nine as recovery efforts continue

The death toll from Russia's latest attack on Vyshneve in Kyiv Oblast has risen to nine after a man who had been injured died in hospital.

Details: As of the evening of 7 July, 18 people were reported to be in hospital receiving medical treatment.
Kalashnyk also said emergency crews are continuing to deal with the aftermath of the Russian attack on Kyiv Oblast.

Background:
- On the night of 5-6 July, Russia launched a large-scale combined attack on Ukraine using attack drones as well as air-, land- and sea-launched missiles of various types. Ukrainian air defences intercepted 363 of the 419 aerial assets launched, but 29 ballistic missiles and 18 attack drones hit 34 locations.
- Nearly 500 residents were evacuated from Vyshneve because of the risk of further explosions.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he expects Ukraine's Security Service and intelligence agencies to establish exactly what had happened in Vyshneve.
- Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko described the destruction of the residential area in Vyshneve as the worst of the full-scale war, saying that 13 hectares of housing have been damaged.
- According to Kalashnyk, the Russian attack on the region has killed nine people and injured 58.
