Russia launched a large-scale combined strike on Ukraine using attack drones as well as air-, land- and sea-launched missiles of various types on the night of 5-6 July. Ukrainian air defences have downed 363 out of 419 aerial assets, while 29 ballistic missiles and 18 attack drones have struck 34 locations.

In total, Ukrainian air surveillance troops detected 419 aerial assets, specifically 68 missiles and 351 drones of various types:

  • 6 3M22 Zircon/Oniks anti-ship missiles (launched from Russia's Kursk Oblast)
  • 23 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles (launched from Russia's Bryansk, Oryol and Kursk oblasts)
  • 33 Kh-101 cruise missiles (launched from Russia's Vologda Oblast)
  • 6 Kalibr cruise missiles (launched from Russia's Novorossiysk)
  • 351 Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas attack drones and Parodiya decoy drones (launched from the Russian cities of Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as temporarily occupied Donetsk)

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

Early reports indicated that as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 363 aerial assets, namely 37 missiles and 326 drones:

  • 31 Kh-101 cruise missiles
  • 6 Kalibr cruise missiles
  • 326 Russian drones of various types

Early reports indicated that as of 08:30, hits by 29 ballistic missiles (including anti-ship missiles) and 18 UAVs had been recorded at 34 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 16 locations.
