Details: "Yesterday I had the opportunity to speak briefly with Zelenskyy, and we agreed to meet in the near future," the Hungarian prime minister said.
Notably, at the official group photo ceremony on 7 July, the leaders of Ukraine and Hungary were standing next to each other, as were the Ukrainian and Polish presidents. It is not known with certainty whether their conversation took place there.
Peter Magyar, in a brief statement to journalists, also sided with Ukraine on the question of Russian aggression.
"I want to be very clear about the war and say that Ukraine is the victim, Russia is a brutal aggressor. Ukraine has the right to defend its territorial integrity. We maintain our humanitarian support for Ukraine, but as I have said many times before, Hungary will not provide weapons or military personnel," he said.
Background:
- Polish President Karol Nawrocki also spoke about his conversation with Zelenskyy in Ankara and changed his tone towards Ukraine.
- One of the main topics of the summit has been the renewed escalation of the Danish-American dispute, with Denmark's prime minister declaring her country's readiness to defend its land in response to Trump's statements
