Details: The affected regions are Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson oblasts.
"Emergency repair work has already begun wherever the security situation allows. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible," Ukrenergo said.
Ukrenergo urged consumers to shift energy-intensive electricity use to the period between 10:00 and 16:00.
Background: Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has approved a UAH 555 million (about US$12.4 million) loan for the Eastern Mining and Processing Plant to finance modernisation projects aimed at increasing uranium ore production.
