Details: During a personal meeting, Zelenskyy thanked Kachka for his work in Ukraine's government and for "the substantive and constructive engagement between our country and the European institutions".

He highlighted "important progress", and pointed to the need to develop "more sectoral, meticulous work to advance through the [negotiating] clusters already opened in Ukraine's EU accession negotiations".

Zelenskyy also said he wants greater communication with both EU institutions and the national governments of EU member states in order to open the next negotiating clusters.

Quote: "I believe Taras will be able to carry out this work most effectively at Ukraine's Mission to the European Union in Brussels. Given Taras's proven track record and experience in trade policy, he will combine this work with the European Union with the role of Ukraine's trade representative – within the framework of our bilateral trade agreements with key partners. Government officials and the diplomatic team of the Office will support Taras in carrying out the assigned tasks."

More details: On 16 July, the government's Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration was replaced. Vsevolod Chentsov, Ukraine's former permanent representative to the EU, took over the post, replacing Taras Kachka.
