Seven people, including three children, have been injured as a result of a Russian guided aerial bomb strike on the town of Izium in Kharkiv Oblast on 17 July.

Update: At 20:52, Syniehubov reported that the number of those injured had risen to seven.

According to the updated information, an eight-year-old boy sustained blast injuries, and a 16-year-old girl suffered injuries caused by shattered glass. Both were taken to hospital.

A 13-year-old girl was diagnosed with an acute stress reaction.

A 40-year-old man, a 21-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were also hospitalised with blast injuries.

A 66-year-old woman is under medical supervision after suffering from shock.

Russian aircraft struck a residential area of Izium with guided aerial bombs. The attack destroyed and damaged residential buildings and sparked a fire covering an area of 200 sq m.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine initially reported that five people, including three children, had been injured. Syniehubov later clarified that the number of those injured had risen to seven.

Background: On the night of 13-14 July, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv Oblast with drones, injuring an 11-year-old child.
