Zelenskyy meets corps commanders for second day in a row
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, joined by Pavlo Palisa, Deputy Head of the President's Office, has met with commanders of the corps fighting on the most intense sections of the front for a second consecutive day as part of a series of meetings.

Details: The conversation was joined by Dmytro Voloshyn, Commander of the 8th Air Assault Corps; Artem Bohomolov, Commander of the 10th Army Corps; Oleksii Maistrenko, Commander of the 11th Army Corps; Yevhen Lasiichuk, Commander of the 7th Air Assault Rapid Response Corps; Sviatoslav Zaiets, Commander of the 20th Army Corps; and Yaroslav Sydorov, Commander of the 17th Army Corps.
The participants discussed the situation on the Sloviansk, Pokrovsk, Oleksandrivka, Kharkiv and other fronts and a programme for distributing personnel among combat brigades.
Zelenskyy said the troops need more long-range artillery and 155mm shells. Additional requirements for medium-range strike capabilities have also been identified, and the participants agreed that the supply of ground robotic systems should be increased.
Separate discussions covered rotations, protection of Ukrainian logistics, strikes against Russian military logistics and prospects for active defence.
Background:
- On 16 and 17 July, protests took place in Kyiv and other cities demanding the reinstatement of Mykhailo Fedorov to the post of defence minister and the dismissal of Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A third day of protests is planned for the evening of 18 July in Kyiv.
- On 17 July, following the decision to replace the defence minister, Zelenskyy heard reports from defence forces combat commanders and announced that a special meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff will be held.
