Details: The Romanian president thanked Romanian pilots and ground crews for the high professionalism, courage and efficiency with which they carry out their duties.

He also recalled that according to an investigation conducted by the General Prosecutor's Office, the drone shot down on the morning of 24 July is of the Shahed type used by the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine.

Investigations into the drones shot down on Saturday and Sunday are ongoing.

"Romania's diplomatic protest to the Russian Federation will be based on the results of these investigations," Dan said.

"It is unacceptable and intolerable that the Russian Federation continues to violate Romania's airspace, which is also NATO and European Union airspace. Such actions are unacceptable, and we treat them with the utmost seriousness together with our allies," he stressed.
