UK will provide Ukraine with electronic warfare technology to protect drones

Ukraine will receive electronic warfare technology from the UK to block the detection of Ukrainian drones.

Details: Burnham explained that they are providing new jamming technology in order to protect Ukrainian drones, adding that it will help them hit targets and save Ukrainian lives, and that it will also demonstrate the level of innovation the industries of both countries can achieve together.

The UK prime minister did not name the specific system whose production technology is being transferred to Ukraine. However, the BBC reported earlier that Britain would give Ukraine a licence to produce Stone Cloak electronic warfare systems. These tablet-sized jammers are designed to block the detection of any drones on which they are installed.

Once deployed in Ukraine, the Stone Cloak system is planned to be integrated into the UK's next generation of weapons, including the Brakestop project – a government programme to develop low-cost cruise missiles.

The BBC also reported, citing its conversation with Burnham, that the UK Ministry of Defence has already supplied "thousands of the devices to Ukrainian forces" to strengthen the defence forces' drone operations.
