Emergency workers have recovered the bodies of three people from under the rubble of two destroyed houses in the village of Bilenke, Donetsk Oblast, following a Russian airstrike on a residential area.

Details: The SES reported that the airstrike destroyed two houses in which people had been staying.

Search and rescue operations lasted around 17 hours. Rescue workers recovered the bodies of three people from under the rubble of the destroyed houses.

Quote: "Emergency workers, together with municipal services, cleared 25 tonnes of building debris and extinguished the fires. The operation has now been completed.

Russian forces continue their deliberate terror against the civilian population of Donetsk Oblast – these are deliberate war crimes that kill and injure peaceful Ukrainians every day."

Background: One man was killed and two others were injured in a Russian drone attack on a repair crew of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) in Donetsk Oblast on 27 July.
