Ukraine's General Staff confirms strikes on Saratov oil refinery, Engels airfield and fuel depot

Ukraine's defence forces struck the Saratov oil refinery, the Engels airfield, a fuel depot in Kaluga Oblast and a number of other Russian military facilities on the night of 1-2 August.

Details: A fire broke out at the Saratov oil refinery following the strike. According to the General Staff, the facility can process around 7 million tonnes of oil per year and is involved in supplying Russian forces and its military-industrial complex.

Hits and a fire were also recorded at the Engels airfield, home to Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers.

Ukrainian forces also struck the Lyudinovo fuel depot in Kaluga Oblast, as well as a storage, preparation and launch site for attack drones near Navlya in Bryansk Oblast.

On 1 August, the defence forces also struck Russian ground control stations in Kursk, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

The full scale of the damage is being confirmed.
