Zelenskyy: 17 killed and 44 injured in Russia's latest massive attack on Kyiv and oblast – video, photos
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that 17 people have been killed and 44 others injured as a result of the latest massive Russian attack on Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, calling on partners to accelerate the supply of ballistic missile interceptors to Ukraine.

Details: Zelenskyy pointed out that the main targets of the attack were warehouses owned by civilian companies. The Russians also struck infrastructure and a railway station.
Among the facilities targeted, the president named a brewery, warehouses storing building supplies and civilian logistics facilities.
Zelenskyy also stressed that ballistic missile interceptors could have saved the lives of those killed and called on partners not to delay their supply.

Update: The Office of the Prosecutor General has specified that a 60-year-old woman has been killed in Kyiv and 16 people have been injured, including an ambulance driver. Four of those injured are in a serious condition.
In Kyiv oblast, 16 people were killed and a further 28 injured. The highest number of fatalities was recorded in the Brovary district. In the village of Kvіtneve, eight people were killed and three injured in a strike on a railway station. In the village of Peremoha, two people were killed and eight injured in a missile strike on a company's warehouse facilities.
In the Bucha district, five people were killed and 13 injured following missile strikes on warehouse complexes. In the Fastiv district, one person was killed and three injured in a strike on a logistics centre.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, damage has been caused to a house, two post offices, a hypermarket, a supermarket chain logistics centre, a petrol station and vehicles in Kyiv.
A criminal investigation has been launched into Russia's large-scale attack on Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast on war crimes charges.
Background:
- Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 24 ballistic missiles, four anti-ship missiles and 115 drones of various types on the night of 4-5 August. Air defences have destroyed 98 UAVs, while Ukraine's Air Force has not reported intercepting any missiles.
- Eight people were killed at the Kvitneva railway station during a Russian missile attack on the Brovary district in Kyiv Oblast on 5 August.
- In Kyiv, damage has been reported at at least seven locations across four districts. Warehouses have caught fire, a house in the Holosiivskyi district has been destroyed and there was an ammonia leak.
- Major fires at warehouse facilities have led to high and hazardous levels of air pollution across Kyiv.
