Number injured from Russian attack on Kyiv Oblast rises to 36, 16 killed
The number of people injured in the latest large-scale Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv Oblast has risen to 36, up from the previously reported 28. Sixteen people have been killed.

Quote: "As of 12:00 on 5 August, 16 people have been killed and 36 injured as a result of the large-scale missile and drone attack."
Details: Tkachenko said the hardest-hit area is the Brovary district, where 10 people were killed and 16 injured.
The attack damaged 19 sites in the district, including seven warehouse buildings, one production facility, three houses, a greenhouse complex and seven lorries.
In the Bucha district, five people were killed and 16 injured. A total of 40 sites were damaged there, including five warehouse buildings, one house and 34 vehicles.
In the Fastiv district, one person was killed and four injured. A warehouse building and 18 vehicles were damaged.
Overall, 78 sites across Kyiv Oblast sustained damage, including 13 warehouse buildings, one production facility, four houses, a greenhouse complex and 59 vehicles.
Emergency services continue to work at the affected sites and efforts to deal with the aftermath of the attack are ongoing.
Background:
- Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 24 ballistic missiles, four anti-ship missiles and 115 drones of various types on the night of 4-5 August. Air defences destroyed 98 UAVs, while Ukraine's Air Force did not report intercepting any missiles.

- Eight people were killed at the Kvitneva railway station during the Russian missile attack on the Brovary district in Kyiv Oblast.
- An employee of Epicentr, a chain of home improvement superstores, was killed and three were injured. A logistics hub operated by the company in the city of Kyiv was destroyed by fire, while warehouses and production facilities in Kalynivka in Kyiv Oblast were devastated.
