Two civilians died and three others were injured on 5 August as a result of Russian attacks on Sumy Oblast.

Details: A Russian drone struck a civilian car in the Putyvl hromada. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.] A 40-year-old woman who was nearby sustained fatal injuries.

Hryhorov said two local residents were also injured in Russian strikes on the hromada this morning.

In addition, a 59-year-old man who was seriously injured when a Russian drone struck his home in the Krasnopillia hromada on 1 August has died in hospital. Doctors battled to save his life for five days, but were unable to do so.

A woman riding a bicycle was also injured in the Krasnopillia hromada. Early reports indicate that she was injured when an unidentified device exploded. The administration believes Russian forces may have remotely mined the area.

All those injured are receiving the necessary medical treatment.

Background: On the night of 3-4 August, Russian forces attacked civilian infrastructure in Sumy with guided aerial bombs, killing one person and injuring several others.
