The unmanned systems units from Ukraine's defence forces have killed or seriously wounded about 211,600 Russian troops since the beginning of 2026.

Details: The ministry said all strikes had been verified through the DELTA battlefield system.

More than 3,000 additional Russian troops were struck in July compared with June.

Details: According to the ministry, Russian personnel losses since the beginning of the year have developed as follows:

  • January – approximately 29,570
  • February – approximately 26,200
  • March – around 34,000
  • April – around 34,000
  • May – around 30,500
  • June – around 27,000
  • July – approximately 30,270

The ministry stressed that drones remain an important and effective means of striking Russian personnel. Therefore, one of the Ministry of Defence's priorities is supplying unmanned aerial vehicles to military units.

Background:

  • It was previously reported that the Defence Procurement Agency, acting on behalf of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, contracted UAVs worth UAH 333.6 billion (US$7.4 billion) for the defence forces during the first half of 2026.
  • Since the beginning of 2026, 413 unmanned aerial systems had been approved for use by Ukraine's defence forces. This is more than in 2025 and 2024.
