Poll finds Zelenskyy would lose to Zaluzhnyi, Budanov and Fedorov in second round of elections

In the event of a presidential election, Volodymyr Zelenskyy would lose in the second round to his chief of staff Kyrylo Budanov, Ambassador to the UK Valerii Zaluzhnyi, and former defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

Details: A simulated first round of voting, based on respondents' answers, showed that Zelenskyy would finish first, with a share of the vote roughly equal to Zaluzhnyi's (22.3% and 21.4% respectively).

Fedorov came in third, with 13.1% of the votes cast by those who had made up their mind and would vote in the election.

In the second round, Zaluzhnyi would receive 66.2% of the vote against Zelenskyy's 33.8%.

If Budanov went through to the second round, he would receive 60.3% of the vote against Zelenskyy's 39.7%.

If Fedorov reached the second round, he would win with 63.8% of the vote against Zelenskyy's 36.2%.

Zelenskyy would win in a second round against Ukraine's fifth president Petro Poroshenko (64.8% against 35.2%), and Third Army Corps commander Andrii Biletskyy (56.9% against 43.1%).

The survey involved 2,000 respondents. It was not conducted in temporarily occupied Crimea, Luhansk Oblast, temporarily occupied territories or areas where active combat operations are taking place.

Research method: personal interview using tablets (CAPI). Statistical margin of error (confidence interval): +/– 2.6%.
