Russia destroys Ukrposhta sorting hub in Pavlohrad, killing employees

Two employees of Ukrposhta, Ukraine's national postal operator, were killed when Russian forces destroyed one of its sorting hubs and the base for its mobile post office units in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, on 6 August.

Quote: "Today, in Pavlohrad, a Russian Banderol [cruise missile – ed.] strike destroyed our sorting depot and the base for our mobile post office units.

The most painful part is that this attack claimed the lives of two of our colleagues, both named Olia. We extend our deepest condolences to their families, friends, and the entire Ukrposhta team as we mourn this loss.

Our mechanic was also injured in the attack. Thankfully, his life is not in danger."

Details: Smilianskyi said the hub served Pavlohrad and the surrounding villages across the district.

Ukrposhta has switched to contingency operating procedures to ensure that pensions, medicines, parcels and letters continue to be delivered on schedule.

Smilianskyi also pledged that the postal operator will fully compensate customers for everything destroyed in the attack.
