Details of two of those killed in Russia's 5 August attack on Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast – photos
On the night of 4-5 August, Russian forces carried out yet another attack on Ukraine, killing 17 people and injuring 44 in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast.

Details: Among the Ukrainians killed that day by Russia was Hanna Artiukh, a 60-year-old security guard. She was originally from Bezuhlivka in Chernihiv Oblast, Nosivka Mayor Volodymyr Ihnatchenko said.
Hanna trained as a chef but had worked for more than 15 years as a security guard at a company in Kyiv's Obolonskyi district. Hanna lived with her son Yevhenii, who was "her only pillar of support", the mayor noted.
On the day of the attack, she was at work.
"She didn't reach the shelter in time and was wounded by flying debris. Sadly, her injuries proved incompatible with life. Hanna's son, relatives, friends, colleagues and everyone who knew her are devastated," the mayor added.
In Boryspil, Kyiv Oblast, another victim of the attack was Pavlo Shepil, 46, originally from Konotop. His death was reported by the Vocational College at Sumy State University, where he studied.
Pavlo had a degree in management and pursued a career in the field. He was also known as a talented videographer.
"His work always stood out for its professionalism and attention to detail, his impeccable artistic taste and unique authorial style," the college wrote.
"Kind, compassionate, gentlemanly, perceptive, a man of his word: that is how Pavlo is described by those who knew him personally. He was also a wonderful father and husband. Pavlo has gone, but he has left behind the inexpressible light of his wisdom, kindness and warmth."
Reports on social media indicate that Pavlo worked as a manager at the Fozzy Group of companies.
Background:
- During the large-scale attack on the night of 4-5 August, Russian forces used 115 attack drones and dozens of missiles. Ukraine's Air Force was unable to intercept any of the 24 ballistic missiles.
- Russia targeted Ukrainian businesses, destroying a sorting hub in Kyiv belonging to Nova Poshta, Ukraine's largest private delivery company, a Novus logistics hub and two Silpo distribution centres. Novus and Silpo are major supermarket and retail chains.
- In addition, the attack destroyed the central warehouse of Liqui Moly Ukraine, the distributor of Liqui Moli motor oils in Ukraine, and damaged a distribution warehouse complex belonging to online retailer Rozetka.
- The Fozzy Group has reported that eight of its employees were killed, saying in a statement: "According to early reports, at one of the distribution centres the explosions occurred at the same time as the air-raid warning was issued, so people did not have time to reach shelter. Sadly, two of our colleagues from Fozzy Group Logistics/Silpo were killed at the centre. Six other colleagues – four from Fozzy Group Logistics/Silpo and two from Maudau – were killed at the railway station on their way home from work."
