The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) showed Crimea as "Russian" during its live broadcast of the solar eclipse on the evening of 12 August.

Details: A solar eclipse took place on 12 August, with the path of the eclipse passing through Greenland, Iceland and Spain, among other areas. NASA broadcast the eclipse live.

- In 2018, British newspaper The Times had to apologise over a map showing Crimea as part of Russia.
- In 2021, Apple corrected maps in its Apple Music for Artists app following appeals from Ukraine.
- In 2023, a similar map was used in a video produced by the Hungarian government.
- In 2025, US broadcaster CBS used a map of Ukraine without occupied Crimea during a broadcast, although it did show the other occupied territories in the south and east.
