World Motor Sport Council lifts all restrictions on Russian and Belarusian drivers

The World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) has lifted all restrictions on Russian and Belarusian drivers in international competitions.

Details: Representatives of the aggressor states can now compete fully on the international stage without "neutral" status and with full permission to use their national symbols at competitions.

From the date of this decision, Russian and Belarusian drivers are permitted to use flags and colours, as well as have their national anthems played at races.

However, holding competitions on the territory of Russia and Belarus is still not permitted.

Prior to this, the IOC Executive Committee temporarily lifted the disqualification of the Russian Olympic Committee and suspended its recommendations on restricting the participation of Russian athletes.

Following this decision, a number of international sports organisations lifted restrictions on the participation of athletes from the aggressor state at the international level. In particular, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) recently lifted all restrictions on Russian representatives.
