Liev Schreiber visits site of Russian attack in Kyiv where apartment building was hit

American actor and screenwriter Liev Schreiber, a UNITED24 ambassador who was in Kyiv during the latest large-scale Russian attack on the night of 19-20 August, has visited the Solomianskyi district, where several people were killed after a nine-storey apartment building was hit.

Details: After showing his audience the scene of the tragedy, Schreiber admitted in the video that what troubled him most was the targeting of these attacks. A children's hospital and a school were damaged in addition to the apartment building.

"I mean, it's so clearly an attack designed to hit civilians," he said.

The actor stressed that missile defence is essential.

"That's something America used to provide. Hopefully we can figure out how to get that programme going again," he said.

Background: This is not the first time Schreiber has visited Ukraine during the full-scale war. He has even begun to understand a little Ukrainian.
