Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine on the night of 19-20 August using various types of missiles and 168 drones. Kyiv Oblast was the main target of the attack. Ukrainian air defences have downed 186 aerial assets.

Details: According to the Air Force, starting from 18:00 on 19 August, Russian forces attacked Kyiv Oblast with Oniks, Zircon and Iskander-M missiles and missiles fired from S-400 systems that approach their targets on a ballistic trajectory.

They were launched from Russia's Kursk, Rostov and Bryansk oblasts.

Another 36 Kh-101, Iskander-K and Kh-59 cruise and air-launched missiles were launched from the airspace over Russia's Vologda, Kursk and Belgorod oblasts.

Eight Kalibr cruise missiles were launched from the area of the city of Novorossiysk. Russian forces also used two Banderol loitering munitions.

In addition, Russia attacked Ukraine with 168 Shahed and Gerbera attack drones and Parodiya decoy drones. Almost half of the Shahed UAVs launched were jet-powered.

The drones were launched from the areas of Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in Crimea.

The Air Force stressed that Kyiv Oblast was the main target of the Russian attack.

The aerial attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from the defence forces.

Hits by enemy aerial weapons were recorded at 28 locations, and debris from downed weapons landed at 2 locations."
