Maksym and his older son, Davyd, were killed. His younger son, 10-year-old Matvii, was thrown aside by the blast wave.

Anna, the boys' mother, told a friend: "He was pulling his dad by the hand, crawling over glass and praying for himself. He felt like he was going to pass out, but he held on, 'because otherwise I wouldn't have woken up'."

Matvii sustained injuries, and the family has started a fundraiser to help him.

The Russian strike also took the life of 40-year-old Oleksandr Mosora, dad to a four-year-old girl.
