UK PM responds to Kremlin accusations over transfer of technology to Ukraine – The Guardian

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has responded to statements by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov regarding the Russia-Ukraine war.

Details: Burnham was asked about recent statements from the Kremlin claiming that the UK's decision to provide Ukraine with secret technology for the production of long-range Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles is "adding fuel to the fire".

"Who started the fire? That's the question, isn't it?" Burnham said.

• Moscow has accused the UK of doing everything possible "to prevent any progress at all in the peace settlement process".
• UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham arrived in Kyiv on 24 August on his first overseas visit since taking office. He is expected to announce the handover to Kyiv of secret data on British components for the long-range Storm Shadow/SCALP missile "as Ukraine and France look to establish local assembly lines in Ukraine".
