Drones attack oil refinery in Russia's Kstovo, sparking fire – photo, video

Drones attacked the Kstovo Oil Refinery (Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez) in the Russian city of Kstovo in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast on the night of 25-26 August.

Details: Local residents reported hearing explosions in the city, followed by a large fire.

According to monitoring Telegram channels, the facility targeted was likely the Kstovo Oil Refinery, one of Russia's largest oil-processing facilities. It has an annual crude oil processing capacity of around 17 million tonnes.

The refinery produces petrol, diesel, aviation fuel, lubricants and other petroleum products.

A local facility belonging to Russia's largest online retailer Wildberries was also targeted.
