Russians attack Chernihiv in morning: house burns, woman and four-year-old girl killed – photos

Russian forces attacked the city of Chernihiv on the morning of 26 August, setting a house on fire and killing a 49-year-old woman and a four-year-old girl.

Quote: "The enemy struck the city early this morning. The attack caused a house to catch fire and it was effectively destroyed by the blaze. Outbuildings were also damaged. A fire also broke out in a shop located nearby."

Details: Early reports indicate that three people were inside the house at the time of the attack.
The city council said that a 14-year-old girl had been taken to hospital. The bodies of a 49-year-old woman and a four-year-old girl were found during search operations.

Update: Bryzhynskyi said that the city had come under attack by Russian UAVs.
"One UAV struck a residential building. As a result of the attack, a 14-year-old child has been injured and, sadly, two people have been killed: a woman and a four-year-old child," he added.
Background:
