Pharmacy worker and her 4-year-old daughter killed in Russian strike on Chernihiv

A 49-year-old woman, Olena Bila, and her four-year-old daughter Zhanna were killed in a Russian attack on Chernihiv on the morning of 26 August. Their bodies were found during the search operation.

Details: Olena worked as a pharmacy assistant at a Bazhaiemo Zdorovia pharmacy.

"Olena was a kind and compassionate person, a dedicated professional who helped others every day," her colleagues recalled.

Olena's eldest daughter, aged 14, was injured and is currently in hospital, where she is receiving medical treatment.

Background:

• Russian forces attacked Chernihiv with drones on the morning of 26 August. One of the drones struck a residential building where three people were at the time, causing a large fire.
• Several hours later, Russian forces struck the same address again. A warehouse building was hit. Four people were injured, and workers may still be trapped under the rubble.
