A 49-year-old woman, Olena Bila, and her four-year-old daughter Zhanna were killed in a Russian attack on Chernihiv on the morning of 26 August. Their bodies were found during the search operation.

Olena's eldest daughter, aged 14, was injured and is currently in hospital, where she is receiving medical treatment.

Background:

  • Russian forces attacked Chernihiv with drones on the morning of 26 August. One of the drones struck a residential building where three people were at the time, causing a large fire.
  • Several hours later, Russian forces struck the same address again. A warehouse building was hit. Four people were injured, and workers may still be trapped under the rubble.
