Bulgaria's naval forces detected an unidentified drone in the waters of the Black Sea near St Ivan Island on 27 August and destroyed it.

Details: The ministry reported that a specialised navy team carried out a mission to locate and destroy the unmanned aerial vehicle, which was spotted at the northern pier opposite St Ivan Island on 27 August.

Service members took action after receiving a request from the governor of Burgas Province, a decision by the defence chief and on the orders of the commander of the naval forces.

For safety reasons, the drone was destroyed on site, with strict safety measures observed.
