Details: The vessel ran aground near Alaçalı beach in Şile, in Istanbul province. According to witnesses who spotted the vessel heading towards the shore, coast guard units were dispatched to the area.

Teams that arrived at the scene took safety measures in the area where the vessel ran aground and launched an investigation.

It was found that the wheelhouse burned and sustained serious damage. It has since emerged that the crew on board abandoned the vessel in lifeboats after the attack.

The Russian-flagged vessel Omskiy-107 is registered at the port of Taganrog. It has recently been transporting cargo between ports in southern Russia and Türkiye. The exact date of the attack on it is not yet known, though Russian media reported that the dry cargo vessel was attacked by a drone in the Black Sea.
