Eight people have been killed and five injured, including three children, in a Russian attack on the city of Kyiv on the night of 31 August-1 September.

Russia attacked the capital once again overnight. Civilian infrastructure facilities and residential areas of the capital came under attack."

Details: A strike caused fires at two locations in the Darnytskyi district. Seven people were killed and one person is in a critical condition in hospital. The fires have been extinguished.

Two people, including one child, were injured by the blast wave at another address.

The attack was likely a Russian missile strike on a railway depot and other railway facilities, where seven people were killed, including six Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) employees.

In addition, a non-residential building in the Holosiivskyi district was hit. The resulting fire, which covered an area of 40 sq m, has been extinguished. One person was killed.

A residential building in the Solomianskyi district was partially destroyed after being hit by a drone. Firefighters rescued a man and freed a woman from under the rubble. They were handed over to ambulance crews.

Kyiv City Military Administration reported earlier that three people had been killed in the attack on the capital and five injured.
