Major Russian Ust-Luga oil export terminal on fire

A fire has been reported at the Russian port of Ust-Luga near St Petersburg following a drone attack.

Details: Drozdenko also claimed that Russian air defence had shot down 52 drones.

Ust-Luga is one of Russia's largest commercial seaports on the Baltic Sea. Significant volumes of strategic cargo, including oil, petroleum products, coal and mineral fertilisers, pass through the port.

The port handles about 700,000 barrels of oil per day, while Reuters reported that exports of petroleum products through Ust-Luga exceeded 32.8 million tonnes in 2025.

The port area is home to major industrial and transshipment facilities, including sites operated by Russian companies Novatek and EuroChem. Ust-Luga has repeatedly been targeted by drone attacks.

Background: Ukraine attacked Ust-Luga on 6 July and in March. The port suspended shipments following the March attack.
