Russia causes new power outages in five Ukrainian oblasts

New power outages were recorded in Kyiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Odesa and Kharkiv oblasts on the morning of 1 September as a result of Russian missile and drone strikes.

Details: In addition, severe weather left 188 settlements in Sumy Oblast without power.

Emergency repair work is already underway where security conditions currently permit.

"Given the weather conditions, active energy consumption today should be shifted to the period of most efficient operation of industrial solar power plants – from 10:00 to 16:00," the company stressed.

Background: On 31 August, Russian forces systematically attacked energy infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast: over two days, they attacked energy facilities three times, leaving 30,000 households without electricity.
