EU and partners to discuss Ukraine's preparations for potentially "worst-ever" winter
European Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos has said that during an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Wicklow, Ireland, on 2 September, representatives from the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway and Canada will discuss how to help Ukraine prepare for the winter.

So I'm very happy that together with our partners, Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland, we will discuss how we can help Ukraine even more, preparing Ukraine for the winter."
Details: Kos suggested that the coming winter is likely to be "the worst ever".
Background:
- Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has arrived in Ireland for the meeting.
- The agenda for the meeting is reported to include the German and EU response to a recent incident in which a Russian drone fitted with explosives was found at Leipzig airport, as well as new sanctions against Russia.
- On 1 September, EU chief diplomat Kaja Kallas called on EU member states to provide Ukraine with interceptor missiles nearing the end of their shelf life.
- Details of a new Russia sanctions package are also being discussed within the EU, with around 1,600 individuals and entities being considered for inclusion on the sanctions lists.
