Russia summons German chargé d'affaires
Russia's Foreign Ministry has summoned Germany's chargé d'affaires in Moscow.

Details: On 2 September, German Chargé d'Affaires Bernd Finke was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry "against the backdrop of anti-Russian actions and statements by the German authorities".
Earlier, Berlin summoned Russian Ambassador Sergei Nechaev to the Foreign Ministry, where he was handed a note of protest over Russia's involvement in the hybrid attack at Leipzig airport in early August.
The Russian diplomat was also informed about Germany's retaliatory measures, including the closure of the Russian consulate general in Bonn and the Russian House Russian Houses are cultural centres established in other countries to promote Russia's language and culture and Russian education. They also serve as platforms for Russian state propaganda and soft power in Berlin.
Commenting on the German authorities' actions, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said the country will be given a "fitting response".
Background:
- The incident in question took place on 4 August, when a drone carrying explosives was found near a Ukrainian Antonov cargo aircraft at Leipzig/Halle airport.
- After Germany officially stated that Russia was involved in the attempted attack, a number of European countries summoned Russian diplomats in protest.
