Putin complains that West is "silent" after Zelenskyy warns of dangers of flying over Russia

Russian ruler Vladimir Putin has complained about the "silence" of Ukraine's Western partners following President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's statement that Russia can no longer consider its airspace safe for civilian aircraft.

Details: Putin claimed that Ukraine's actions are "complicating peace talks" and criticised Kyiv's Western partners.

Quote: "You have noticed the seizure of civilian vessels, attacks on civilian merchant ships, and now threats of attacks against civilian aircraft have been voiced. Of course, this is a manifestation of state terrorism. And, undoubtedly, this makes it more difficult to hold bilateral peace talks.

Those who are silent, who pay no attention to this – I mean, above all, Ukraine's Western allies – are becoming accomplices in international terrorism. What else can it be? There is no other way to interpret it."

Background:

On 1 September, Zelenskyy said that Russian airspace is becoming completely unsafe and that this should be taken into account by all airlines using Russia's airspace.
On 2 September, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Ukraine officially notified the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) that Russia's airspace is unsafe for civilian aviation due to increased military activity.
