Ukraine confirms shutdown of Russian oil refinery and strategic port after Ukrainian strikes

The Kstovo oil refinery (Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez) in the city of Kstovo in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod Oblast has been shut down as a result of a Ukrainian attack on 26 August.

Details: In addition, on 1 September, Ukraine's armed forces struck the Novatek-Ust-Luga complex in Slobodka in Russia's Leningrad Oblast. It has also ceased operations.

Drones hit pipelines between the oil discharge pumping station and storage tanks, causing an oil product spill over an area of 200 sq m.

A primary gas condensate processing unit and two towers of a hydrocracking unit were also attacked at Ust-Luga.

As a result, a pipeline in the tank farm caught fire at the facility, with an oil product spill covering an area of 250 sq m.
