Fighting continues along the line of contact because the Russians have not stopped their aggression against Ukraine.

Background: According to Ukrainska Pravda, ahead of the visit by US President Donald Trump's special envoys, the Ukrainian authorities attempted to introduce a temporary ceasefire along the line of contact. Units from Ukraine's defence forces were ordered to observe a ceasefire from 00:00 on 5 September until 23:59 on 8 September.
