Russian drone hits office of Ukrainian TV channel: 5 injured – photos

The Russians destroyed the premises of the We-Ukraine and We-Ukraine+ TV channels during their attack on Kyiv on 8 September, injuring at least 5 people.

Quote from the TV channel: "On the afternoon of 8 September, Russia once again attacked the premises of We-Ukraine and We-Ukraine+ TV channels. The main impact was on the newsroom and offices. There are people injured."

Details: At the time of the attack, the channel was broadcasting live as part of the 24/7 national joint newscast.
"The building was partially destroyed. All necessary services are working at the site. State Emergency Service personnel have already extinguished the fire. As of now, five people have been reported injured. Sadly, that number may still rise," Zelenskyy said.

Rescue workers and medics are currently at the scene of the attack. The injured are receiving the necessary medical assistance.
Background:
- On the night of 7-8 September, Russian forces attacked the city of Kyiv with ballistic missiles, damaging residential buildings and an educational facility, killing 3 and injuring 19 civilians.
- Damage was recorded in seven districts of the capital, including to residential buildings, warehouses, an educational institution, a hospital and the entrance to Tarasa Shevchenka metro station.
