Two women die in hospital after Russian drone attack on train in Sumy Oblast on 8 September
Two women who were injured during a Russian drone attack on a train in the Sumy district on 8 September have died in hospital.

Quote: "Two people who were injured yesterday as a result of the Russian attack on a train in the Sumy district have died in hospital. They were women aged 60 and 79. They sustained serious injuries. Sadly, the doctors were unable to save their lives."
Details: Two other people are in a serious condition.
"The Russians deliberately struck civilian transport with drones. This is another cynical crime that has claimed the lives of innocent people," Hryhorov said.
Background:
- On the morning of 9 September, Russian forces attacked a railway station in Kharkiv Oblast with a Shahed drone and struck a Kharkiv-Izium train, injuring six people.
- Throughout 8 September, Russia attacked trains in several oblasts of Ukraine multiple times.
- In particular, the Russians carried out a drone strike on a suburban train in the Sumy district. Rescue workers and local authorities evacuated 19 passengers, and 10 people were reported to have been injured.
- A train attendant was killed in a Russian attack on a Dnipro-Zaporizhzhia train.
- Also in the morning, Russian forces attacked a Kyiv-Sumy train, forcing the evacuation of 90 people.
