Damaged equipment at Ryazan oil refinery will take weeks to repair – Reuters

The Ryazan oil refinery belonging to Rosneft, a major Russian state-controlled oil and gas company, stopped operating after a drone attack on 6 September, and repairs to the damaged units may take several weeks.

Details: The sources said the refinery's main unit and another unit have been halted after the attack.

One unit, which caught fire during the attack, can process 8 million tonnes of oil a year, almost half of the plant's capacity.

The second unit can process 4 million tonnes of oil a year.

Another main unit has been undergoing maintenance since mid-May, the sources said.

The sources also said repairs to the damaged units could take up to several weeks.

Rosneft did not respond to a request for comment on the attack on the plant, located about 200 km south-east of Moscow, Reuters said.

Ukraine continues to strike Russian energy infrastructure, seeking to undermine the country's economy as the war has now been going on for more than four and a half years.
