Drones attack Ryazan oil refinery in Russia – video

Drones attacked the Ryazan oil refinery in Russia on the night of 5-6 September.

Details: Malkov confirmed a drone attack on the oblast and reported a fire "at one of the facilities", without specifying which facility was affected.

ASTRA journalists established through analysis of photos and videos that the Ryazan oil refinery had been attacked.

The Ukrainian outlet Exilenova+, which specialises in tracking attacks, also reported a successful strike on the refinery.

According to Malkov, drone debris also damaged a residential building in Ryazan and in the Sapozhkovsky district. There are no reports of casualties at this stage.

For reference: The Ryazan oil refinery is part of Russia's state-controlled oil giant Rosneft and is one of the country's largest oil refineries. It has a capacity of around 17 million tonnes of crude oil per year.

The refinery was previously attacked in May and July 2026.
