A fire broke out at an industrial facility in the Khmelnytskyi district on the night of 12-13 September after debris from a strike drone fell there during a Russian air attack.

Background:

  • Throughout September, Russian forces have been systematically attacking industrial and civilian infrastructure in Khmelnytskyi Oblast.
  • In particular, on 9 September, four State Emergency Service of Ukraine workers were injured in a secondary explosion while fighting a fire at a market in Khmelnytskyi caused by a Russian attack.
  • On 4 September, a Russian strike on the city damaged a multi-storey residential building and cars parked nearby, while significant damage was also reported at several businesses. Seven people were injured in total, four of whom were taken to medical facilities.
  • On the evening of 2 September, Russian troops attacked an industrial site in the Khmelnytskyi district with jet-powered UAVs, causing a fire and injuring a man.
