Ukraine confirms attack on Russian oil refinery and drone production facility

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed an attack on the Syzran Oil Refinery and the Atlant Aero facility in Russia.

Details: On the night of 14-15 September, units of the defence forces of Ukraine hit Syzran Oil Refinery JSC in Samara Oblast in Russia and the Atlant Aero facility in the city of Taganrog in Russia's Rostov Oblast.

Direct hits followed by a fire were recorded on the territory of the Syzran Oil Refinery. The AVT-6 primary crude oil distillation unit and the tank farm were hit, the General Staff noted.

The Special Operations Forces (SOF) specified that this was a special operation conducted by their Deep Strike units in cooperation with the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) and the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).

Several SOF drones reached their targets. A large-scale fire broke out on the facility's territory, special forces operators confirmed.

Syzran Oil Refinery JSC is part of Rosneft Oil Company PJSC. The refinery's processing capacity is approximately 8.9 million tonnes of crude oil per year. The plant produces petrol, diesel and aviation fuel, as well as other petroleum products. The enterprise is involved in supplying the requirements of the Russian Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, explosions and a fire were recorded on the territory of the Atlant Aero company.

Atlant Aero specialises in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles and their components. In particular, the facility manufactures Molniya strike-surveillance UAVs and components for Orion UAVs. The enterprise is directly engaged in supplying the Russian Armed Forces with unmanned systems.
