Russia attacks Ukraine with 80 drones: air defence downs over 60, hits recorded

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 80 Shahed (including some jet-powered) and Gerbera attack drones as well as Parodiya decoy UAVs on the night of 15-16 September.

Details: Early reports indicated that as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 63 Shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones.

Hits by aerial assets have been recorded at seven locations and downed aerial assets (debris) have been found at two locations.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in the airspace.
