Russia unveils air defence system against Ukrainian long-range drones – photos
Russian defence company Kalashnikov has unveiled for the first time the Zveroboy air defence system, armed with Kraken FPV interceptor drones.

Details: Kalashnikov claims that Zveroboy is designed to provide round-the-clock protection of facilities against reconnaissance and strike drones.
Among the targets of the system, Russia specifically lists Ukrainian drones such as Leleka, Liutyi, Bober and Hornet-XR.
"The system consists of an automated workstation at the ground control station, an optical targeting system, three launch containers, a digital repeater, a technical compartment with a distribution panel and switching unit, a compass on a telescopic pole, and a radar system," the company said.
The system's primary means of engagement are high-speed, multirotor Kraken FPV drones with a specialised warhead. Each of the three launch containers holds three interceptors, giving the system a total of nine such drones.
The Kraken drones can be used during the day and at night. The night-time Kraken-N version is additionally equipped with a thermal imaging camera.
Zveroboy is offered in two versions: stationary and mobile. The latter is mounted on the chassis of a mass-produced pickup truck, which is intended to simplify the system's relocation and concealment.
Kalashnikov also claims that Zveroboy can be integrated with existing surveillance and perimeter security systems.
Russia has not disclosed the system's detection and engagement range, the speed of the Kraken interceptor drones, the mass of their warheads or other key specifications.
Background:
- It was previously reported that Russia had developed the Met interceptor drone, designed to counter drones at short ranges.
- In June, Russian holding company Shvabe unveiled a system for guiding interceptor drones towards strike UAVs. The system, whose name has not been disclosed, consists of a ground-based electro-optical station, interceptor drones and an operator workstation.
